Double Happy Birthdays

The light gray car is my "daughter ", a 2008 Mazda 3 named Melissa. Fresh from a car wash. It was ten years ago this weekend I bought the car almost New as my 50th birthday present( my actual birthday is in May) to myself at the time and I can't believe it's been ten years. I am now in a different state, with a different company and a different outlook on life. The car is still shy of 40,000 miles. I use it as alternate transportation a couple of days a week for work and occasional weekend drives in the summer. I came from nothing and have always been very frugal with my spending. That was a big step back then taking money out of my bank account to buy a relatively big ticket item. It's funny about me, cars and April. I bought my Ford Escape, named "Beethoven " in April 2016.
