OVERALL RATING
Did a hill/incline workout today. Trying to develop strength so that I can increase my average mile pace. Hill sprints are just like heavy weight lifting except they're sport-specific. In other words, I am strengthening all the muscles of my legs by running. This type of sprinting also increases muscle tensions thus helping me run faster and feel more âspringyâ the next day. It will also increase the power and efficiency of my stride, enabling me to cover more ground with each stride with less energy in race circumstances. Some other benefits I am seeking to improve are numerous. Running inclines on a treadmill, is a form of resistance training that builds up the muscles in my calves, quads, hamstrings, and glutes. Hill running strengthens those areas more than running on flat ground. I will also strengthen my hip flexors and Achillesâ tendons. This #fitgrandpaonajourney #fitguyonajourney #fastedcardio #nikerunclub is focused on becoming a stronger and faster runner but also achieving a leaner body. My goal weight for mid June is 176. I am at 183 now.
