Camping out in the high desert for New Year's was ridiculously cold! It hit 10 F (-12C) overnight, plus our camp stove didn't work, so food was also cold. And no coffee. Everything froze solid overnight, even the water bottle in our tent was slushy. And the wind was an icy knife. We had to drive around in the truck to warm up before going to bed. I'm wearing 5 layers while looking at an ocotillo on our new land on New Year's Day.
