Hump Day
OVERALL RATING
Hit a plateau? I have and it can be a very frustrating experience. Often times many fitness magazines and gurus will tell you that you must constantly âconfuseâ your body by changing up your workout all the time, but is this actually necessary? I would argue that itâs not. Changing your routine too early or too often can lead to an inconsistent track record. Thereâs a saying that says success is measured. How can you measure something that hasnât been consistent enough? So whatâs the answer? Letâs look at some facts. We know that progressive overload is what causes muscle to grow. Our bodies are capable of adapting to stimuli, but what exactly is the adaptation? Is it the exercise being performed? No. It may actually be more related to the amount of stress you are challenging your body to perform. Volume = weight x reps x sets. Try changing up any one of these, or all of these in your exercise, rather than the exercise itself and see if you donât continue to make progress and bust through that plateau. Iâve tried to it and found it to be a great alternative. Happy Hump Day!
