Pushed it today. 300 reps with 12 pounds. After the end of 12 weeks, I tested my muscle mass and found that I had made essentially equal gains in strength and size. My bench press was higher with my low-reps then when I tried to push real heavy weights. I found that fascinating. Why the gains? Total work volumeâthat is, reps times weightâis a good way to force muscle growth. I have been forcing my muscles to failure the last 12 weeks. I love what I have accomplished.
