When I started my fitness journey 16ish years ago, I gave up junk food, smoking, and being a couch potato. I hovered around 140-150lbs ish (see pic on right) and no matter how hard I worked, I was never satisfied with my physique. Itâs taken a lot of self reflection to realize that alcohol is whatâs been standing in my way. It was finally time to give up my last vice. Iâve given up my nightcaps and my excuses. Game on! Iâm down 15lbs of fat and up 4.5 lbs of lean body mass since mid July when I quit drinking. Being a 42 year old mom of a 3 year old daughter means that it is definitely time to live my best life and be the role model that she deserves. The 250k challenge 2018 has been on my radar since July. Itâs exhilarating to test the waters and see if I have what it takes to prep for a competition. I am 110% certain that I do!!
