It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin, but we all belong to one human race. We all share the same basic values. Our differences are beautiful and what creates amazing things on this earth. Thomas Edison who was told by teachers he was too stupid to do anything. Edison went on to hold more than 1,000 patents, including the phonograph and practical electric lamp. Walt Disney was told he lacked Imagination and had no good ideas from a newspaper editor. Undeterred, Old Walt went on to create the cultural icon that bears his name. Albert Einstein as a child he did not start speaking until he was four or reading until he was seven and was thought to be handicapped. He went on to win a Nobel Prize and altered the worldâs approach to physics. Michael Jordan Either he was part of the greatest high school roster of all time or his coach made a huge mistake in cutting Michael Jordan from his high school basketball team. Six Championships and five MVPs later, Jordan became arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. All these amazing humans are different but all brought so much to our world. Our differences are beautiful yet sometimes we need to focus on our similarities to find connection. Like the fact we are all struggling, wanting to be heard and loved. Perhaps if we start here with the basic understandings of life and what it means to be alive we will grow in our love for one another and our connection will allow us to celebrate our differences that embody our improbably human reality.
