Why is it so hard for everyone to get this? Your scars are someone else's signs of hope. I now see how owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do. Staying vulnerable is a risk we have to take if we want to experience connection. THIS is why we're here. THIS is why we dig it up and put it out there... not *on display* but into the world where it can be *seen* and *understood*... and maybe, just maybe if we are **** lucky, a catalyst for a new way of thinking for someone else. Not to change them because WE think they need changing… but to offer eyes that are looking a new way of seeing things. What is the "it," you ask? Every bruise, every setback, every unmet expectation, every dastardly deed for which we've been on the receiving end. Every bottom – but, more importantly, every new beginning. Every new truth we have come to understand. Every lesson. Every silver lining. THIS is what we offer. This is what we share. This is the gift we have in us to give, simply by copping to our own human frailty and our own divine reality. HURTS AREN'T FOR NOTHING, and it's in the sharing, the exchange, that we become stronger.
