THIS is why I flew 12,000 miles with my scrawny *ss - I mean sculpted glutes, that's it, my tightly sculpted glutes - in a tiny economy class seat. Two rare aloes, Kumara haemanthifolia on top and Kumara plicatilis below, the only two species in this genus, found only in a few mountains about 50 miles NE of Cape Town. K. plicatilis is in the trade (we have a few at home), but as far as I know, haemanthifolia does not exist in cultivation, not even at Kirstenbosch or Kew gardens. Totally worth it :) (Yes, I know my face looks funny!)
