I can't tell you how many times I have tried to defend myself when not making progress and others are trying to give me advice. I will say "you don't understand" or "yeah I've tried that" and even "something is wrong with me!" The truth is, WE HAVE TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH! Odds are if you are not seeing the progress you want, then you are not being honest with yourself. You have to be brutally honest to get realistic results. Maybe you are eating too much, maybe you need an extra dose of cardio, and maybe you need to flat out work harder when you hit the gym. I read an article about weight loss plateaus and one of the tips was to do something everyday that you don't want to do when it comes to your workout. At first I thought that was stupid until I was out running the next day and ran right passed this really steep hill....needless to say I turned around and ran that hill two times. I did something I did not want to do. Heck it might just be doing a few more sets of squats at the gym or a few some sprints on the treadmill. Anyways that is my little rant for today! Hope you do something you don't want to do (;
