I began working out in Junior High to help improve sports performance. I continued heavy lifting/power-lifting though college for football. After getting out of sports I shifted to a bodybuilding/ascetically centered style of lifting which is where I made my most gains.
Why I Love it
Bodybuilding to me is one of the only things in life that you cannot cheat your way to the top. The old cliche is "The is no substitute for hard work". I believe it to be most true in the bodybuilding world. The is no substitute for not eating correctly or for taking it easy in the gym and I find that reassuring. If someone looks better or has achieved more than I have then its because they worked harder. Good for them. But that won't last for long.
