The iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told that you're a god or a total moron. The iron will always give you the real deal. The iron is the great reference point, the all-knowing persepective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the iron to be my greatest friend. It never lies to me, never freaks out on me, it never runs from me. Friends may come and go, but two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds!
I admire Frank Zane the most and always will. To me, he emulated the physique closest to perfection and I believe the sport will return to fostering more physiques like his in the future due to the overwhelming public health concerns with contemporary bodybuilders and the overuse of drugs in the art. I used to follow other bodybuilders too like, Steve Reeves, John Grimek, Serge Nubret, Francis Benfatto, Bill Pearl, Arnold, Mike Mentzer, Tom Platz, Bob Paris, Milos Sarcev, Lee Labrada and Shawn Ray.
