As a teen, I never really saw the desire for fitness. I was having fun and enjoying my youth. As I got into my later teens, I started to feel the urge to get more in shape. It started out as simply jogging with superficial attempts at weight training. Then came my injuries. I dislocated my shoulder at 18 and a rib in 2000. I needed to workout (physical therapy) to keep my shoulder tight and avoid surgery. It wasn't until 2007 when I made the serious change to start eating healthier and exercise. It has been a rough journey with many things learned by trial and error, but I am happy to say that it has set me on a path that I am proud to be on :)
I love how it makes me feel. I love feeling stronger, having more energy, looking great without clothes. Most of all, I love being an inspiration for others. People are always watching, sizing you up, and making comments. Especially when you stray from your habits. It makes me want to keep going to help inspire others to begin making healthier choices :)
