After being on the receiving end of a horrific rugby tackle & subsequent ruck 20 years ago left me with multiple knee & spinal injuries I haven't done any fitness activity since, other than intense physio to learn to walk again. I also fell into a deep depression which still raises its ugly head from time to time.
Then following the sudden death of my son last year & my impending 40th birthday I've had the time to re-evaluate my lifestyle choices. Quitting drinking was easy. Quitting smoking not so but working on it.
I'm going to be doing Kris Gethin's 12 week plan with the aim of making a start on losing this gut & get back into shape. After that, who knows.
For the first time in 20 years I'm looking forward to hitting the gym.
Why I Love it
Endorphin rush. Feeling completely spent at the end of a session knowing that I am going to hurt tomorrow, yet liking the pain.
