Got my ass kicked in a backyard wrestling match at the age of 16 and about a year or two after that I picked up my first 5 pound dumbbells. Started working out with that and slowly built strength and muscle after that, still not even anywhere close to where I want to be. Progress is encouraging though and that's what keeps be going.
Why I Love it
It is a healthy and legal way to escape the stress of life. There is something magical about that zone you get in when it's just you and the weight, nothing else matters. Gains are also a huge motivator to keep going.
