In 2013 I was diagnosed a type 2 diabetic. This is something that runs heavily in my family, and knowing all the health issues that runs in my family, I stayed obese and didn't fight for my health. I started following ADA ways to control the diabetes, but it didn't last a year. I researched LCHF and Keto, and decided to take that leap, especially after watching both my grandfathers pass away due to complications of diabetes. I jumped into the keto way 2 years ago and lost 100 lbs and have held it off. I met a friend that is into body building and through his example and encouragement I decided to get a gym membership and start body building. It was the best thing I could ever do. I have found an addiction and I love everything about it.
I love how it makes me feel. The pump during the lifts feels absolutely beautiful. I love the muscle soreness I feel for days afterwards, there is no other feeling that can ever bring that much excitement and accomplishment to my life. I have seen small gains in this process which help keep pushing me on. I also find it is a serious therapy session for me. I suffer depression but just something about lifting weights and putting them down and repeating this process that helps lift my spirits!!
