Hey everyone! Finally sorting out my BodySpace profile! So how did I get started? Well, I admit fitness/bodybuilding was NOT a part of my life for a very long time. I don't like to say the entire reason was because I was lazy but I was suffering from various illnesses too which depressed me and prevented me from doing anything to help myself. Over the years I would join different gyms, go for about a month then just give up, wasting extortianate amounts of money in the process. I would just tell myself that I 'wasn't a gym person'.
About 6 months ago, I watched a programme on TV which featured a well-known British model that transformed herself into a bodybuilder and competed in the UK and US. (Ten points if you can guess who I'm talking about!) Haha! Watching that plus having a bodybuilding/powerlifting boyfriend really helped transform my mind and see fitness and nutrition as an amazing thing that didn't have to be a chore. With the help of my boyfriend and BodyBuilding.com articles, I devised a workout consisting of free weight training and cardio as well as completely changing my diet. I was tired of seeing all the fitness models on here, in magazines etc and just WISHING I could look like them. I feel fantastic for actually working towards making that happen!
I fricking LOVE the buzz I get when I realise I can lift a little more weight than what I could last week. I love the new shape my body is transforming into and I love the new ounce of confidence I get each day when I leave the gym knowing I've done something FANTASTIC for myself!
It's amazing to see how far I've come in my 18 months of training. Considering I was leg pressing 15kg when I firsted started and now I'm pressing 200kg. I think that's a pretty darn good achievement! YEAH!
I'm a really big fan of BodyBuilding.com and how much it's helping me and reading the body transformations really motivate me to reach my goals. I'm always looking for people to talk to about bodybuilding and nutrition so hit me up!
