I've been sick half my life with symptoms that worsened over time, including 4 recent years of chronic vertigo. At the age of 33, I was finally diagnosed with celiac disease. With a diagnosis, I was able to start healing myself, including getting rid of the vertigo (yup, that was from my celiac, too!) In 2011, I went from 235 to 195 pounds with changes to my diet. I joined a gym in November 2011 and discovered that I loved lifting weights. I'm currently working with a trainer and lift heavy 5 days a week. So far I'm down another 25 pounds and counting, and feel better and stronger than I ever have. It's a new me, and I'm loving it!
So many reasons. I have control over my body, instead of my body having control over me. I've never seen a me with muscles before, and I love it. I feel strong, healthy and happy, and I want to feel that way forever. So far, so good!
