In late 1999 I found myself at a personal bottom in terms of my physical condition. At 5'4", 205 lbs, and over 30% body fat, I was on course for a litany of serious health issues. Working graveyard shift in the Casino Gaming Industry I allowed myself to get caught up in a destructive lifestyle. Alcohol, fast food, little sleep, toxic environment, toxic mindset and toxic people all conspired to drag me down. Sick and tired of being sick and tired I set out to discover a solution. I had plenty of experience with exercise in my past but it was all trial and error based. I'd never done my research to develop an understanding of a healthy nutritional approach or a safe effective exercise regimen. Enter Body-for-LIFE. Three challenges and 3 personal training certifications later and I was well on my way. A full fourteen years later after many cycles of weight loss and gain I've discovered the secret to long term sustainability by eliminating alcohol, fine tuning my nutritional approach, progressively improving my mindset through awareness and meditation practices etc.
Exercise has become my moving meditation. Whether it's in the gym, on the hiking trail, out on the road running, or any number of other similar activities, I'm able to transport myself into a zone of inspired movement.
