Growing up, I was always active and involved in sports. At the age of 3 I was kicked out of ballet class for being too active and energetic- I was bored with ballet moves and started doing jumping jacks and the "bicycle" ab move that I had seen on my Mom's Jane Fonda workout tapes! I was promptly removed from ballet and enrolled in gymnastics, where I trained and competed for many years.
After a number of injuries related to gymnastics, I decided to stay active by joining a local health club for women- fell in love with the gym and magazines such as Flex, Muscle and Fitness, Iron Man mag, Oxygen, etc., and was soon asked to teach workout classes at the health club- I was only 16, but couldn't wait to lead others to a healthier, active lifestyle! = ) So ABS & BUNS class it was (at 5 AM and before I went to my JR Year English class, no less) and then I soon started to teach Cardio Kick-boxing classes. I was having so much fun helping others work to achieve their fitness goals, that I was soon asked to take on clients, one-on-one and began my career in personal training.
What's not to love? Each day I get up and workout, with the understanding that it is up to me to maintain/improve upon my health and overall well-being. Working out isn't just a way to stay "cute and fit" but a lifestyle choice I make in order to increase my quality and longevity of life!
