I played sports throughout high school, and was on a football scholarship in college until I had back surgery to repair a disk problem. There were some complications, and a 2nd surgery was conducted, and after it, I decided that my playing career should end (didn't want to go through surgery again in the future). I always worked out hard, but after my surgery, I began to really diet and focus on the bodybuilding phase of lifting instead of just power-lifts that I used for football. The rest, as they say, is history.
It is hard to explain the infatuation I have with bodybuilding to someone who does not do it. I love it because it makes me feel better, both mentally and physically. It is a great stress reliever from tough days at school, and I honestly look forward to going to the gym every day. I also love the way other people notice my body. It makes me feel good to have other people ask me for training tips and nutrition information.
