I was a fatbody, and it got worse until I hit 275# in Nov of 2012.
As of 7/10/2014 I'm down to 233. Moving slower than I want, but I'm working on that. I like to lift, I like challenge, and I started doing it at a time when I needed to grab onto something, anything to make me feel better about myself. Work was fine, but I felt weak and flabby. Moving weight helped me turn that around, make me feel strong, capable. That's what got me started.
I love the challenge. I have a great strength trainer, and I love being brought right to the brink of failure each and every lifting session. I tend to lift alone, but it's also a great time to zen the eff out. Up, down. That's all you gotta think about.
It's also showing me that I can feel comfortable in my ability to be strong. I find myself wanting to challenge my PRs.
