I have been active my whole life, I grew up playing football, basketball, baseball, and golf. I played football for my High school all four years. My freshman year of football I weighed 140 pounds. Somehow I was put at center and that is where i played. I was asked to put on weight, and so that is what I did. Our football team worked out, and worked out HARD. But when i look back and think on it, alot of that went to waste because of the way i was eating. Instead of putting the protein and the essentials my body needed into my body after working out, I was ingesting brownies, cookies, oatmeal creme pies, soda, you name an unhealthy fatty, sugary food and I was probably eating it. Even though I was working my body hard in the weight room and outside on the field, I was gaining weight, but not good weight. By my senior year i was 240 pounds. I went from a size 30 waiste to a 38. A medium shirt to and extra large. I was not just a jiggly piece of fat, i was solid but i was chunky. After football my eating habits remained the same. I was eating horrible foods and doing nothing to work them off. The muscle was going away and the fat was coming on full fledge. I didnt really think I was fat until the day i walked past my truck and saw the reflection of a very overwieght young man. It took my mind a second to realize that the reflection that i saw was mine. That is the day i decided to do something about my wieght and the way i looked.
Today my wieght is 155 pounds, instead of trying to lose weight i am now working to gain weight by adding muscle. I am working hard in the weight room just like i was for football in highschool, but instead of brownies i am eating brown rice, instead of sugar filled cookies, i am eating baked chicken with sweet potatoe. I am feeding my body the nutrients and proteins it needs.
I love the way i feel, and look forward to the gym!
