It all started with the idea of always wanting to look good in a bikini, I would always see fitness magazines and notice the nice toned bodies but didnât know that I could ever obtain that look because of my âbody typeâ. I always felt that being toned was the best physique for a woman no matter what stage she is in, in her life, whether she is getting married, having a baby or simply getting older, being fit and in shape just works and looks good! I would consider myself a semi-workout person throughout my life and felt like I would always keep my âbig butt and hipsâ even though I worked out. One day I decided to make a change and look into getting a trainer. It wasnât just the workout that was important but the diet part. I got with a nuthrionist first and began training a few weeks later. The first time ever going to the nutritionist I learned so much about what I was doing wrong and learned how to make the right decisions when it came to what I needed to eat. The numbers didnât lie I found out that I was borderline obese with a 30% body fat and weighing at my heaviest EVER in Life 162lbs! I couldnât believe it because I thought I knew what a certain weight looked like and how could I weigh that much. My weight loss journey actually occurred in two segments because after the initially nutrition visit I lost 12lbs just from working out mostly and eating right some of the time. That process was over a year span, I wasnât as dedicated to the lifestyle like I needed to be. I just wasnât as serious at the time! Finally a year ago in November 2011, I decided to go back to the nutritionist and get with a trainer that I know could push me out of my comfort zone! I found a great FIT with both! I started training in December 2011 and lost over 35lbs over a span of six months to compete in my first NPC bikini show in June 2012. It was a great experience because I actually returned to my initial goal of wearing a bikini and looking good in it! It was a GREAT feeling because I was always so self-conscious of my âBig Buttâ and now here I am on a stage showcasing it! My body fat dropped down to 8.72% and weighed in at 118lbs for the competition. Itâs amazing how the body works and I am a true testimony of how you can beat genetics if you stay dedicated to eating clean and working out. Although this is still the beginning of my life converting to a healthier lifestyle through the process I always felt like I was doing this not only for myself but for my others who may see my transformation be inspired.
