I began consistently working out in 2012 when I began my physical transformation. Prior to that I was very overweight, unhappy, and had low self esteem and a negative body image. Then, I picked up a Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine, saw the transformation stories in the back and decided to finally make a change. Finding an ad for bodybuilding.com was what led me to the website and Jamie Easons Live Fit Trainer. I used this trainer to begin my fitness journey and never looked back. Now, I'm a competitor, NASM personal trainer, fitness writer and contributing writer for Bodybuilding.com, and have just recently launched a company and brand Fit Style, which produces fitness inspired jewelry, with additional fitness related products on the way. My business, fitness, competing, and a healthy lifestyle are now my passions.
Why I Love it
I love bodybuilding for so many reasons. The weight training has completely changed my body but also my mindset. My self confidence has improved and I FINALLY am proud of my body and my mind. I have found myself pursuing activities that I never would have done before. In general, my healthier diet has given me more energy but also a clearer mind with less stress. Training has given me strength, the body shape I've always wanted, as well as a mental fortitude I have never experienced before. I'm addicted to the pump, the feeling of pushing my limits, and the euphoria afterwards. Competing has taken this to a new level as there is so much satisfaction that comes from improving each season and seeing just how much power we have over changing the way our bodies look. Working out has become my way I release stress, my preferred hobby, and a daily priority.
