Both my parents were big into bodybuilding. Muscle and Fitness magazines littered the counter tops. On my 13th birthday, my parents bought me my first gym membership, and I haven't stopped since. Over the years, my goals have changed. Started as wanting to improve for high school sports; later it was to just look good for the ladies; now it is just to be at my peak performance level (physically, mentally, spiritually) and letting the aesthetics fall where they may.
I like to workout first thing in the morning. Doing it first thing in the morning not only gets rid of the excuse later in the day that I am too busy or tired, it is a big mood and energy boost for the day. Just a 20 minute moderate intensity workout can give a 12 hour boost. Waiting to workout later in the day, I essentially waste that opportunity. Exercise helps me thing better and to be more creative. I also do mini workouts throughout the day to keep those boost benefits going. Yes, I do get looks from people when I drop and do burpees or "hard style planks" in the middle of the office, but then again, I get plenty of my coworkers to join me. It's your life. Don't let social pressure stop you from pursuing the best version of yourself.
