In 2004, at age 35, I weighed in at 255 lbs. (Iâm 5â9â tall) I started a bodybuilding program to get in shape and dropped to 204 lbs. But the loss did not last.... I did not change life habits to incorporate exercise in my life style and it hit me badâ¦.
I turned 40 in 2009, weighed 270 pounds⦠had high blood pressure, high cholesterol issues, was taking all sort of medication to compensate the bad health. I was in really bad shape. I was discouraged and everything was going down for meâ¦.
At this point, the big issue for me was to accept that I regained every ounce and needed to do it all againâ¦.
So in 2009 I started slowly but surely an exercise program involving cardio and lightweight bodybuilding. I gave myself an objective of 3 full years to reach the weight lost goal. I need to drop body fat from 44-50%% to 15-17%.
Let's do this !
My first benefit to exercise is that it gives me some time for myself. It may sound selfish but with a big family, there is not a lot of free time in a week⦠While I exercise, I do it for ME. By incorporating exercise in my life style, it gives me some balance.
The cardio part helps me with the stress management.
The bodybuilding part address directly my self-confidence by reaching goals with I didn't think I can reach. It is also the time to enjoy good rock/metal music.
