I've always liked the idea of getting fit but I never really knew what i was doing. After spinning my wheels for about a month, I stumbled onto the book "Thinner, Leaner, Stronger" by Mike Matthews. It was science based and told me what i had to do with my diet and training to get scientifically proven results. I read the book, i followed the training plan spelled out in it, and I started tracking macros. After one year, I've lost nearly 12% body fat, my squat has more than doubled (I'm now squatting more than body weight), my deadlift is nearly 2x body weight and my bench will be body weight in the next few months. I love lifting because it gives me control over my life. When I lift, I feel better about my myself, I sleep better, and my mood in general is much better. It helps keep my stress levels under control and I just feel freaking great. I definitely won't be stopping any time soon. I've been lifting 5-6 days a week for over a year and it's only becoming more and more of an obsession.
