Thanks for checking out my profile... So here is my story. I have always enjoyed playing sports and being active. At 6'4 I never fluctuated much from 180-190# until a buddy in college volunteered to help me with a new goal: getting fit. I had been described as "lanky" and "skinny fat" and wanted a change. I broke the 200# mark and felt great. Through grad school, working out became something I enjoyed, but due to schedules and stress, I went away from it. I got up to 230# and was over 20% BF. I wasn't happy and needed a change.
I joined a small 24-hour gym and felt intimidated by all the people "who looked like they belonged there more than I did." But a change was needed so I set a goal and got to work. Incorporating HIT cardio at the end of my weight sessions along with some small diet changes helped me start transforming in 2010 and I dropped to 205#. Now my goal is to get back up to my former weight and get to 10% or lower BF.
One of the best pieces of advice I received was "Check your ego at the door. Come in and do what you can and push yourself as hard as you can." I have been fortunate enough to met a few people who have given me tips and their time to talk about setting and reaching goals. Working out has become something I enjoy now and while I am still gaining confidence, I no longer dread taking my shirt off at the lake or while playing sports.
I am joining this website to hopefully take my progress to a new level. My job requires a lot of travel (Driving) and meals on the road. In April 2014 I had my first injury which caused me to slow down. I am getting back into the routine now and want a change more than ever before.
