My family aren't at all atheletic or physicaly active and my parents would spend most evenings enjoying a glass of beer or wine while watching TV. A well toned body is something that a lot of people are wowed by, but it is something that takes alot of time and effort to achieve. I knew I wasn't going to get a good body just by thinking about it while sat infront of the TV!
When I was 16 I decided that I was going to start at the gym and get huge. It was official. I got my membership, bought a protein shake, and got to work. Within four months I had given up. Working as a plasterers labourer, I couldn't hack the DOMs at work, having to lift heavy buckets, bags, boards etc. When I turned 22 I decided that it was finally time to revisit the gym, but this time with true dedication and fiercer than ever!
And I haven't stopped since....
The insane pumps you get, where your T-shirt feels like it has shrank. The sound of weight stacks clanging. The rush of endorphins on the walk home. The overall health benefits. The chance to better ones self. The time to focus all negative energy in your body and convert it into a positive force that helps drive you to your limits and beyond. The feeling of satisfaction after you hit a PB.
