I have been doing martial arts since I was a kid, starting with Muay Thai when I was 11 years old. I worked out in the dojo and at home. I grew up in a non-fitness oriented environment, but I loved martial arts and training so much it became a central part of my life. Today, I train Brazilian Jiujitsu and I freaking love it. I still love lifting weights, building strength, and improving my physique as well. I was introduced to lifting in college by my roommates. Today I've taken it in my own direction. My biggest challenge right now is balancing work, eating right as a vegan, training BJJ and training weight lifting.
There are rarely moments when I feel as complete and alive as I am when I am really exerting myself in BJJ or in the gym. I can express myself through fighting or lifting weights. For me, working out in these ways provides a complete focus that is incomparable with any other area of life. Also it's cool to have a strong body.
