I was always an active youth. I played volleyball and was a cheerleader, both of which kept me in good shape. By my late teens, I got a corporate job and picked up cigarettes. I struggled with quitting smoking, and finally gave it up by 25. Picking up snowboarding was one thing that really helped change my focus.
Though I loved snowboarding, I also ate tons of food in place of smoking cigarettes, and I thought that the food would burn off on my runs. As it turned out, by the time Summer came along, my bad eating habits stuck around, and I ended up going from 122lbs to 149! Miserable and unhappy, I started working out regularly to maintain energy and weight. A few years later, I was still unhappy, and it became clear that nutrition was the missing link.
In August 2011, I started eating healther by reading the nutrition facts and doing the basics. Combined with my workout routine, I started to lose weight and tone up more.
Here I am in February 2012, and I hunger for more: more muscle tone, more energy and more happiness.
My fiancee has been a big push for me in the last few months, as he has always made me feel beautiful and knew I could transform my body if I wanted to. Now that our wedding is just a few months away, I've adopted Jamie Eason's 12 week challenge to meet my goal by May 19, 2012.
Since taking supplements, my workout routines feel a lot more beneficial and energizing.
I still struggle with nutrition, as healthy stuff isn't always the tastiest. I'm trying, though, and a healthy mind, body and smile will be what I have to show for it!
I love working out becuase it makes me feel strong and capable. Watching my body change is also what adds to the joy of it, because its all beneficial to my quality of life. I always want to be a healhty, happy person, woman and wife!
