Day 1 of the Body for LIFE program was August 14, 1999. I don't know exactly what led me into the gym, but I needed it. It saved my life. It was natural for me to compete. I'm competitive and a warrior.
I competed in my first competition that included figure, fitness routine, obstacle course (Women's Tri-Fitness) in 2001. First figure competition in 2004. And I earned my pro-card in 2005. And it's been a very rewarding experience ever since.
I love the stage. As long as I am on stage competing I know I'm not dying. In order to achieve the results, I have to do the work. Nothing is more satisfying than finishing strong knowing that my dedication and hard work paid off.
Today, I am a figure coach doing contest prep that includes training, diet, and posing. I enjoy being able to share my knowledge and experience with blossoming new competitors. It also gives me an opportunity to give back to my sport that has given me so much. In order to grow the sport of figure, I have to contribute of my time and talent back to its growth.
