In August 2010, I weighed 232 pounds, had a 40-inch waist, was pre-diabetic, suffered from the ill-effects of asthma and a torn knee ligament. I was also terribly out of shape, out of energy and at a unhappy time in my life.
I found the motivation to begin to run and eat healthier. I set a goal to weigh under 200lbs. By January 1, 2011, I met my goal of weighing under 200lbs. I also lost 5 inches off of my waist. In that month, I also joined the gym, and began to weight train.
By losing fat and gaining muscle, I totally transformed not only my body, but my entire life. I am happy, no longer pre-diabetic and more energetic and fitter than ever. I feel even healthier than I did than when I was in the U.S. Army.
Why I Love it
I love bodybuilding because it has provided a way for me to become healthier, fitter and an overall happier person.
