The first time I ever lifted weights was in 7th grade at wrestling practice. I never really started working out consistently for long stretches until about my mid 20's. At I believe 26 years of age I was at 30% body fat and although I looked good in clothes underneath I didn't look so good. That summer within about 3 months I lost about 40 Lbs. of body fat or so and I've never let myself go even close to that again.
Why I Love it
My main reason is I want to preserve my health as long as I possibly can. Aside from that there most definitely is a degree of vanity in there, and also the fact that it just plain feels good. I don't have any "sappy" reasons.
