I had always wanted to be in amazing shape. I loved trying new workout routines and living a healthy lifestyle. My excuse was always that I never had the time or resources to achieve my goal because I was too busy studying to be an English teacher. After I finsihed my bachelor's degree and was accepted into the credential program, I realized that i was not happy with my life. I wasn't doing what I wanted to do, just what i thought I was supposed to do because I was good at it. I realized that I had been very depressed for the past year. I decided then to completely change the path of my life. I dropped out of the credential program and started working on getting my CPT from NSCA, and I started an internship with another personal trainer to gain some experience while I learned. My new goal is to make my own career as a personal trainer and become a fitness model. Making that decision was one of the happiest and most invigorating moments of my life. I'm still on my way and I can't wait until I get to share my story with others!
I have struggled with depression and low self-esteem for most of my life. I played soccer for 15 years and being on that field was the only time I was truly happy. After college soccer was over, I started to grow more depressed, and one of my friends decided he would motivate me by taking me to the gym and having me lift weights. I loved it immediately. It not only made me feel better about myself because I looked better, but it actually gave me something to look forward to everyday. It would be incredible to have that as my job.
