I've always loved playing sports like tennis, softball, and track. Sadly, I didn't always know how big a role nutrition played in seeing results on/off the field, nor did I see the point of lifting weights...now, I know! Before I got pregnant, I was training for a marathon. I didn't like how it was making my body feel or look, so I started lifting weights. During my pregnancy, I continued to use weight training to stay in shape. I gained 60lbs during my pregnancy even though I was keeping a food journal and working out. About 4 weeks after my c-section, I put my daughter in the jogging stroller and began to reshape my body once again, little by little. Eventually, my body healed and I was able to go back to the gym to lift weights. That is when I started to see my body take on a different shape. It wasn't through incessant amounts of cardio, but heavy lifts and very intense workouts that got my body where it is now. I learn more everyday and I'm very excited about the journey ahead.
Everything about bodybuilding has only made my life better. The discipline and dedication it takes to do this day in and day out has spilled over into other areas of my life. I give my best and strive for excellence in everything I do, no matter what it is, whether its lifting weights or being a good mother and wife. Bodybuilding has empowered me and given me more confidence in myself. It has taught me that I can even though my mind is telling me I shouldn't even try.
