I've always liked keeping fit when I was young I hardly stayed indoors. When I became a teenager, on my 13th birthday, my dad decided to take me to the local sports store to get one piece of gyming equipment of my choosing. I took the heaviest rubber dumbbells I could find (6kgs isn't all that heavy but tell that to that small kid) and that's when it all began. I couldn't lift those things more than twice when I started out but over the months they became lighter in my hands; I was doing curls with them everyday. Only started getting serious when I found a Men's Health magazine with a 'get ripped before the holidays' program. I tried it, using only my dumbbells and a little creativity. Looking back that program was horrible for a beginner but I was none the wiser and actually made some progress on it.
Anyway my dad noticed the results and decided to get me a gym membership.
I used to go to gym every other day and I made a few friends there. Being a beginner I didn't know how to use some of the machines or really what 'good form' was. Thankfully one of the trainers there showed me the right path early on. :)
Best way to destress and who doesn't love getting compliments from others?! I also like helping others in the gym (no broscience though, haven't got enough qualifications for that yet) I'm learning as I go along so I'm definitely not gonna pretend I know exactly what I'm doing but, hey, I think the fact that I get to see people improving each day/week/month makes it worthwhile.
