My family is very health and fitness oriented. My mother had my younger brother when I was four. She would go to the gym daily to get back in shape and as a result I would frequently visit the gym. My father would go on runs and I would chase after him on my bike... He was fast, well he still is (Ive only out ran him once). I also remember waking up on the weekends when I was little and crawling into my parents bed. When my parents would get up, my dad would start the day by doing some push up and crunches. I always remember doing push ups with him, or sitting on his back while he would do them. My parent shopped at a health food store and sodas were never allowed in the house. As I began playing sports my dad would make me protein shakes before and after my games. As soon as I was old enough to get my own gym membership (13), I joined and started working out. My mom was still going to gym regularly and so it was convenient for me to go every day. My parents had numerous diet and work out books around the house. I would read this exercises book written by bill pearl and create my own work out routines. At family gathering my Nino (God Father)Jaime, also a competitive bodybuilder, would give me tips on my diet and work outs. Though out my schooling I always tried to keep a regular work out routine but it wasn't until I got into college that I decided to compete. It was harder than I ever imagined and I love it.
