It was 8th grade and I spent my last semester in a home-schooled program. Everyday it was the same routine- wake up, do homework, go on the computer, play some basketball, then sleep. I was about 5'11 with a weight of 128 LBS (Clearly underweight). I was tired of being referred to as the "Tall Skinny Boy". No matter what sport it was, I was always physically out-matched. One day I woke up and I decided that I wanted to make a change to my life. I purchased a muscle magazine from a local grocery store and searched profusely for my moms old 10 LB dumbbells and pull up bar. Thus, my passion and life style sparked from there! The 'Ironbug' has officially bit me.
Ever since I was in Middle School, I was a huge advocate in being a 'leader' and never following the 'fad' or what was 'in style'. I lived in an okay area, however, I was surrounded by drugs in my school. I feel as if bodybuilding contributed in living a healthy and drug/alcohol-free lifestyle. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs. I feel like this is all made possible because of the lifestyle.
I also feel like the gym is a place where I can escape the stress and overwhelming academic life. The gym is a place where I truly enjoy being and love to lift some heavy a** weights!
