When I Started:
How I Started:
Basically got tired of being the little guy and since I do security for bands and special events I had to lift to keep up with the big guys who didn't have to life. Now i'm stronger than about 80% of them...just goes to show you what you can accomplish through hard work!
Why I Love It:
It's great motivation when I look in the mirror or get comments from people at work. That gives me some incredible drive. If you look good, you feel good and if you feel good generally you will have a better day than not.
How I Stay Motivated:
Consistency and seeing other people work hard and achieve some great gains. I like looking in the mirror and seeing that my hard work is paying off.
BB Accomplishments:
Lots of personal accomplishments so far. Currently training for a 5K.

I had an injury in November playing flag football and have finally got back into the groove. Anyone else coming back from and injury? What kind of injury did you have, and did you have to overcome any obstacles to get back in shape?
Hey thanks so much for taking the time to notice my progress, its hard to see myself the way others do so I appreciate you tellineg me. What are your goals for this year?
My training has slipped in the last few months...feeling less motivated and such...trying to get back into a new type of workout that will keep me motivated...maybe some hot yoga or something. Sorry to hear about your injury. :(
Looks like your training smart. I think the problem with my knees is that I used to over train. Trying to find a balance so I don't waste this time & I think I will be ready for NPC Gold's in Oct.
Training is going, and going, and going some more :) Thanks for e-hug back, always nice to get those. How's your runs? I bet you log at least 30-40 a week?
Training is going great! Thanks for asking. Yeah, I am a jack of all trades- trainer, nutritionist, makeup artist, volunteer work, mom, wife... all fun though!
Hope you are doing well too!
Take Care!
Wings & lite beer my ultimate cheat. I love Nigri & Sushi rolls, guess that could count as a cheat. I used to run 5/10k, my favorite was Carlsbad 5000 (CA), fastest known course; best times were 5k-21:30 & 10k-44:00. Now my knees hurt too much to run farther than 2 miles. Thanks for the reply & good luck on your future races.
a 5k at the end of August, I sure don't envy you that's for sure :) Good luck though! I have a local for stage time, and a big-time show in September in New York City, so my summer will be spent eating leeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaan :)
Hello Lorenzo, in fact is winter here, but Im worked out every day, Im doing fine preparing for the summer! Good luck with your goals, you're doing great already ! Congrats !!!
Hi Lorenzo - thanks so much! Yeah the pink dinosaur donuts are great (I think they taste so much better in the dinosaur shape than normal round ones! ha ha)

I love running... if the focus is for distance/performance instead of logging time as cardio. I've run two 10 milers and am training a group of women at my gym for one in October. Good luck to you. And don't stop running after the race - stick with it! Thanks for the support. :)
I just did Junior Nationals last weekend in Chicago and placed 4th. I was happy with it but still didn't get that pro card! I will be back with a vengeance in '09. It's off-season mode now!
