Background
I started bodybuilding at the tender ripe age of 20 years old. I was sort of forced into it by an older co worker that needed a training partner for a contest that he was getting ready for. We started twice a day, before work and after. He was a monster, at 6'5" and 285 lbs and no body fat. He really laid it on me in the gym.
Honestly, I love the soreness that is associated with a really good and heavy work out. I love it because, to me, it really is more of a cerebral sport than most people give it credit. It really instills determination in your life when the "Gym Bug" really gets a good bite out of you!

Week 10 Distal Biceps Tendon Repair
Posted in Training : Apr 04, 2011 8:55amGot the best news this past week from both my physical therapist first saying that I had achieved full range of motion! Then had my monthly check up with the orthopedic surgeon who semi-released me for resistance training! I can do all body parts on machines only and with caution as to weight. The only body part that I cannot train in the gym is the biceps. However, I can train the biceps with a 5lb resistance band to stimulate blood flow into the tendon area. I was stoked and went to the gym that night after my appointment to hit chest and managed to throw up

Posted in Other : Mar 05, 2011 4:44pmCast is off now, no need to tell you about all the nastiness that lived in the cast for 4 weeks. Arm was not as shriveled up as expected, but alot of muscle mass was lost. Arm feels relatively good aside from the still tender scars. Cannot fully extend my arm upon immediate cast removal but got about 2/3 of the way straight. Could suppinate and pronate about the same.
First day of PT and they said still had some swelling in my arm and for some reason my wrist was the most painful of the parts of my arm. I am guessing that is from the immobil

Posted in Other : Feb 10, 2011 9:30amToday makes 2 weeks since the surgery to repair my ruptured distal biceps tendon. The procedure has been remarkably pain-free with the exception of the first two days following the surgery. I attribute that to the nerve block that was applied to my whole right arm from the shoulder down. The plater splint that was applied post surgery was a beast, weighing in at 10lbs!! It was humongous and cumbersome to say the least. Day 2 post surgery was the worst in terms of pain, especially at night, yet it was still rather tolerable. Felt like being beaten by a bat
