I grew up crawling on the gym floor. My mother and father where both competitive bodybuilders in the early 80's. After spending my youth as a gymnast and my teens as a runner -- after college I turned to fitness as an outlet to continue competing and following the tradition of my parents.
Why I Love It:
I love competing. Not just the show, but the whole process that leads up to showing. Being able to set a goal for myself and lay out the plan to get there. Then pushing myself to achieve my vision while constantly re-evaluating my progress. You have to love the road to the competition -- or else it's not worth doing. Diet, cardio, lift, stretch, choreography, tumble, pose, diet harder, suits, tan, hair/nails -- showtime -- eat, re-assess, eat more & do it all over again. (Got to love the win too!)
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by always having a short and long term goals. I also re-evaluate those goals after every show and make the proper adjustments to my time-line to achieve them. I also am very open to everyone about my goals so that others around me keep me accountable.
BB Accomplishments:
I am proud of the progress that I have made over the years. Though I have won some shows, I feel that my greatest accomplishments are achieved after the shows that I haven't won. Being able to look at my routines and physic and make the proper adjustments to comeback better every time. The accomplishment is to be open to changing for the sport and for yourself and not being upset about "politics" or other complaints about the judging at shows.

I decided years ago that all my training -- gymanstics, sprinting, cross country, weight lifting and years of competing -- have led me to follow in the footsteps of my bodybuilding parents and become a fitness competitor. With the tradition, dedication and guidance of my family, I will compete for my pro card this year and with it I will use it to inspire youth and their parents to be active and healthy -- to be role models for each other and their communities -- in a society that is becoming less and less active and inspired.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 10 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
12%

What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I had a should injury during incline dumbbell chest press. My spotter wasn't paying attention at the time. I was out for a few months and did a little rehab to strengthen the weak rear part of my deltoid.I had a should injury during incline dumbbell chest press. What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't mind. I like people working hard -- but grunting just to draw in attention is wrong. Do I do it? Sometimes.
