I met my friend, an amateur bodybuilder and fitness trainer, through a mutual friend. Without asking any financial compensation, he took me under his wing and mentored me - teaching me the foundation of working out and bodybuilding. I had to overcome the mental defeat. Before I could change my body, I had to change my mind.
Why I Love It:
I have come to embrace and appreciate working out, because it improves the health of the the mind, body, and spirit, which are intricately linked.
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by telling others of my goals so that there is accountability. I purchase a gym membership knowing that I would be unwilling to not get my money's worth. I measure/weigh myself and look at previous photos to observe the progress of my transformation. I am, also, motivated by the desire to maintain my good health.

I will gain 40 more lbs by 2010. I will be healthier, stronger, and more secure.
Goal (Long):
Growing up, I was always the tall kid, but even more so the skinny kid. I believed that I was unable to defend myself as I was sometimes physically attacked. I would dream of being muscular and strong. Now, after many years of envisioning this image, I am embarking upon the journey to make it a reality. Weighing 145-148 lbs at a height of 6'5" as of March 2009, I plan to reach 200 lbs by the beginning of 2010 (or however long it takes).
Ulisses Williams, Jr. inspires me through his personal dedication to build and maintain one of the most impressive physiques around, and through his commitment to help others realize their dreams of having healthier, stronger, and (ultimately) more attractive bodies.
WOW! A good, "clean" diet is always good. I only take protein supplements to do just that - SUPPLEMENT what I don't get with food. I have MS friends who are immobile without their motorized/wheel chair & those who still exercise. We ALL are 'challenged' from time to time, but well-"lubed" joints fluid to cells & REST are impt. I'm in year 11, but I feel better now then ever (relatevely). I focus on my ABILITIES, not my DISabilities. Check out my site www.DawnMelanie.com *smile*
