I started playing sports (football) and lifting weights my freshmen year in high school. Sports were cool, but what I really enjoyed was bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
I've always had a huge respect for bodybuilders. (Arnold's era. Not juice freaks of today) I've always had a real respect for the passion, dedication, and perserverence.
How I Stay Motivated:
Motivation is easy for me. I look at my favorite bodybuilders often, and I also look for progress. I love the personal power of achievement that comes with a hard days work out. I love the burn.
BB Accomplishments:
I have no accomplishments yet. I've had to take off from bodybuilding for a year due to a hyper-active thyroid (graves' disease) but I'm all fixed now. So back to the gym. It was a pretty good thing though. I lost 80 pounds. (A lot of fat too), so my body basically cut for me.
I was deathly sick though. It was not fun. My eyes popped out of my sockets 1 cm, my bone density dropped, my resting heart rate was regularly 150 bpm. It was all so scary. But I got treatment and persevered through it.

I want to gain 30 pounds of muscle by summer, and cut 10 pounds of fat.
Goal (Long):
After dealing with Graves Disease for a year, my weight has fluxuated so bad that I'm ashamed to even post progress pictures. I'm taking a big vacation this summer and would like to be able to confidently stroll down the beach.
Man, I'm trying. My chiro has helped a lot with the scoliosis and myasthenia surprisingly. I'm hoping yours will come up with some useful help for you as well.
When you say you can't stand up straight, are you talking about without pain or just the inability to. Your scoliosis from the front isn't that noticeable which is why they say it isn't that bad.
