Background
I got started when I had my husband take a picture of me when I started dieting. When I saw the photo, I looked so unhappy and my body was so lumpy... I just looked unhealthy. I realized I needed to change for good and I never wanted to be as heavy as I was again. It has been such a slow battle because the first 8 months, I was over training the wrong way, I was doing too much cardio too hard, and I hadn't really cleaned out my diet, even though I was eating around 1200 cals. So in summary, I was not feeding my muscles, so all the training I was doing was pointless, my diet was not conducive to fat loss, and I was breaking down my muscles too much with improper, long training, and too hard of cardio. I quit 6 months into it because I did't see major changes, I wasn't losing fat, so I got discouraged. During my hiatus, I discovered my heart disease symptoms were coming back and they were making me feel as if my heart was on it's last leg. I was nauseous a lot, and I got sick often after eating. I said enough is enough, and I refuse to feel like this. I cut out alcohol, and quit smoking cold turkey. I realized sugar and high fat foods were the cause of the many intestinal and borderline eating disorder issues, so I cut them out too. The sugar was the hardest battle to win, but I had come so far and I would never let something so evil take over my life. Finally after lots of reading, research, and truly cleaning out my diet by removing sugar and keeping my macro-nutrients in check, I am seeing HUGE changes! I do have to say, proper nutrition is KEY! No working out in the world will get you the results as eating CLEAN. Now the fat is just melting off, and I am so motivated to reach my goal and teach others what I have learned!
I love it because it makes me feel strong, like I can take on anything or anyone! :) I have finally been able to look at myself and feel confident, comfortable with the body I am in. Most of all, I have had many health problems, including heart disease, IBS, and insomnia. Through training and eating a clean well balanced diet, my heart symptoms have completely disappeared, I fall asleep relatively quick, and I no longer feel sick, cramped, or have ulcers. I cannot even believe how different I feel, it is so amazing!!!
