I trained for sports in high school and fell out of it when I had kids. Then in 2005 my younger brother was preparing for his first competition. Citing me as one of his greatest mentors I knew I wasn't exactly in shape any longer so I got back to work.
Why I Love It:
Its all about you molding yourself into what ever you dream of being. No one can stop you but you and no one can make you work for it but YOU. Its just you and the iron. Strength & Honor
How I Stay Motivated:
Every morning when I look in the mirror and Im never satisfied. I have a vision of what I wanna be physically and I will achieve it.
BB Accomplishments:
Have not competed in any bodybuilding shows....YET. Won multiple bench press competions in 2006 with my personal best being a 405 raw press at body weight of 230lbs.

I've been back bulking for about a month and while most of my gains have been on the leaner side, im very unsatisfied with my current physique, hence why there has been no progress pictures lately. As I dieted down I constantly told myself, ok when its time to bulk your gonna have to sacrafice...

I'm sorry to hear that..but I totally agree with you..do it all for yourself..that's all you can do. If I don't compete in July then at least I'll be fit to be in a bikini..haha But competing is a must for me..just not sure exactly when it will be..
I am not sure if you know the magnitude of what you have accomplished Mike. I looked at your photos. You had to have a vision for what you wanted and what you have done is quite remarkable. Keep it up! I hope to make it to watch the competition in June. I hope the shoulder is doing better as well.

Congrats on a great transformation. Hope your shoulder injury is not serious. I tore my rotator cuff in october. Surgery in January and it is just amazingly slow recovery. As you know not being able to lift is very frustrating.
Hey man best of luck to your recovery!! Trust me i have a had a few bumps in the road myself, but if your like me once you have it going; its not to hard to get back on track!
keeping motivated is tough enough, but working around an injury is impressive. are you avoiding upper body altogether? i have a forearm strain that's kept me from bi & back work. it's been about a month, so i'm anxious to get back
It didn't go well at all. 5th place. I spilled over with carbs. I looked flat and bloated. Lesson learned and I will do much better in two weeks at the Ohio.
