Overall Goal: To shift my primary focus and hard work to bodybuilding once my days playing competitive hockey are done. When I feel confident enough in myself I would like to compete in my very first show.
Fit Status:
Taking new body measurements then training legs
I started working out as part of my hockey training in order to become a better player. Gradually I got into training and eating healthy more and more, and now I've adopted it as my lifestyle. I cannot wait to see how much I can personally achieve in the world of fitness and bodybuilding.
Why I Love It:
It defines me now. It sets me apart from other people. Everyone knows me as the healthy fitness freak and I love it. It eliminates stress. It feels good to become stronger on the ice. I love it when I get compliments, that always makes me feel like I'm progressing even when I personally don't see it. Working out and staying active also does wonders for my confidence, which leads to being happier and enjoying every day a little bit more.
How I Stay Motivated:
My 16 year old driver's license says 5'6, 119 LBS. I've always had a small/skinny build and have looked years younger than my actual age. When I was a freshman in high school, the seniors in my art class used to literally pick me up and pass me around. They called me "little Benny". As you would imagine it was very embarrassing. Everyday I acquire new knowledge from the internet and magazines that I cannot wait to put to the test. Looking in the mirror everyday and knowing there's room for improvement is motivation enough to keep pushing and never stay satisfied.

My last day of high school senior year in 2006 before I got into training seriously. Didn't really have much knowledge about weightlifting or nutrition. 18 yrs. old.
Finally at 170 LBS. +11 gain since I've been home from school for the summer, and not much if any of the added weight seems to be body fat

Adam is my training partner and has been a close friend of mine since we were little kids. Different paths in high school led us both to bodybuilding at the same time. We are now headed on the same path and share many of the same aspirations for the future. He inspires me to do what I love to do and to always keep improving. I wish Adam all the best.
Nick has made excellent accomplishments achieved naturally through hard work and dedication. I, like Nick, have also chosen a straight edge lifestyle and feel he is a great role model for other drug free athletes.
Description: A short highlight vid made by a good friend of mine. Has a couple hits, fights, and goals from my first season playing junior hockey. Music by Winds Of Plague.

Well, just got done with my sixth straight day of intense training for hockey tryouts. We skated for 2 and a half hours this morning while 95% of the other college students here were probably asleep, hungover, etc. from a friday night out. Yesterday I made it through first cuts onto to a list...
Hey man, thanks for the add. Sorry it took me so damn long to add you back! So, when are you looking to start competing? I've been coaching for a decade, and one of the weirdest coincidences I see is how many former hockey players become bodybuilders. Seriously -- it seems like one out of every two or three bodybuilders I meet USED TO BE hockey players! Go figure . . . so when are YOU making the switch?!

When you say not strict do you mean you just eat whatever? Well recently I have trouble eating gigantic meals. I just can't do that anymore. I am trying to add mass. I want at least get to 155 I am at about 136 right now.
I'm sure you'll be even bigger by then, all it takes is commitment! I'm playing a tournament as of Friday, so at this stage I'm super fit, wish I could stay in this shape all year round..
