Eat clean, get lean
I enjoy clean eating and finding new ways to prepare my whole foods with natural flavors. My diet is simple, and it fuels my body to ahieve my goals. I have a dairy allergy, which turns out is a blessing in disguise. :) I also don't consume red meat or pork. A look at the variety and my typical macro sources below:
Protein: chicken breast, egg whites, white fish - roughy, salmon, hake, cod, tuna
Carbs: oats, sweet pots, quinoa, greens, berries
Fats: almonds, pistachios, nut butters, flax
I don't eat out or consume alcohol or processed foods. Most days, I eat 5-6 smaller meals which includes a pre and post meal. Sundays are for prep! A little prep goes a long way.

A good, clean whey protein isolate is a necessary complement to my nutrition program. I look for isolates that are cold processed so as to not denature or compromise the integrity of the protein, those that have natural sweeteners and low carb/sodium - the shorter the ingredient list, the better! A few products I can appreciate are from Solgar, Blue Bonnett and 1st Phorm.

I enjoy challenging my overall perception of what I am capable of. I'm new to competing, but fitness and overall health and wellness have always been important to me and a main source of motivation. I feel great - always. I wake up full of awesome each morning and approach each day with a smile and gratitude. I am in constant competition with myself - pushing, testing and enjoying every minute of it! I also consider myself an advocate for living a fit and healthy lifestyle. I work in healthcare which puts me in a unique position to do so - I see patients and providers each day in the hospital setting, and most times, I'm seeing patients on what might be their worst day - at the same time, they're seeing me at my best. I'm humbled to be in a position that truly inspires the people around me, whether friends, family or perfect strangers. That is motivation, pure and simple.
