I started power training for football through out high school. Eventually I joined the power lifting team and placed 5th in the state meet my junior year(only year I competed.) My training halted for a while do to a shoulder injury and a long bout of depression, brought on my a dear friends suicide. By winter of my freshmen year in college I had reached 215 lbs. and was incredibly unhappy with myself. I then devoted large amounts of time into cardio and dropped all the way down to 162 lbs. Since I have worked on a balance of bulking and cutting. I have put on a good amount of muscle but still have some chubs to burn off.
Why I Love It:
It's one of the only times during the day that I feel free. I can release my anxiety and daily pent up anguish on the weights. It makes me feel great, and it's something I'm pretty good at.
How I Stay Motivated:
My work out partner and life-long best friend(since kindergarden.)
Gradually gain muscle and loose fat, while getting stronger and working on proportion.
Goal (Long):
My long term goal is to have tight abbs with out loss of size... in fact I'd like to get bigger and stronger on the way. I also need to bring up both my calfs and forearms to proportion out my physic.
I will be cycling a near zero carb/fat high protein diet with a low fat/low carb diet at 2 week intervals, been doing cardio for an hour on an empty stomach (sip creatine mono and BCAAsin crystal light during work out) and weights at night.
was in 4th place after 2 events when i had to go to the ER, i have 2 bleeding lodged disc herniations in my spine and torn rotator cuff on the right side, also have nerve and skeletal damage as well.... sucks, bad, but that's why they call it a comeback!!!
Thanks brotherman I am familiar with them already, they're actually co-promoting the show I'm doing August 8th!! If you're free you should come by, watch me get my ass beat by these strongman veterans! Only chance I have of placing is if there are other first timers...
Nah man I spent the day at the APECS strongman facility in Medway, Ma. instead, flipping 900lb tires and pressing 200lb logs... Wasmore fun than meeting Cutler IMO.
Hey bro, nice progress! How r the diets coming along? R U tracking ur bodyfat % at all! I have similar current goals, trying to shift lower ab fat and generally lower my bf% to <10%! Hard work, but It'll be worth it! Let me know how it goes.
